About the Role:


We are currently seeking 2 x Risk Advisers to join our Global Risk and Compliance (GRC) team. A high level of influence in delivery of Risk Management is required with engagement of multiple stakeholders across our business.

The two (2) roles are distinct in their workload and stakeholder groups. Please indicate on your CV which role you are primarliy interested in.

Projects / Developments: We're looking for someone with Project Management experience within a related area (O&G, Mining, other resources sector). This position will support the planning and development stages of projects as we take them through from concept to execution. You'll be responsible for ensuring material risks are identified, assessed, evaluated, monitored and effectively communicated.

Operations are looking for someone with a strong knowledge of operating facilities, ideally within the resources, mining, processing sectors (other relevant sectors considered). You'll bring a strong background in risk management, with demonstrated experience managing risk in a live operating environment. This role will require exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship building skills, with demonstrated history of effectively influencing operations staff, as well as coaching and guiding skills.

Both positions are for an initial 12-month Fixed Term Contract, with the possibility of extension or permanency.




Duties & Responsibilities:


General duties and responsibilties acorss both roles will include:

  • Provide coaching, mentoring and advice to the business in project risk management, including building increased capability across the business and assisting project managers throughout the project lifecycle
  • Providing risk and opportunity management information in support of effective decision making
  • Supporting ongoing improvement of Woodside's capability to manage risk through successful application of Woodside's risk management process
  • Lead, coach lead and mentor Risk Focal Points embedded within teams in the facilitation of risk assessments & review workshops, compliance management plans and assurance activities
  • Leading the delivery of training and ongoing support to GRC focal points



Skills & Experience:


To be successful in these roles, we are looking for candiates who can deonstrate the following:

  • Degree qualification in a relevant discipline
    • E.g. project management, engineering, business, commercial, management or other related discipline
  • Previous experience in a similar role gained in the resources industry
  • Skilled in integration of risk process with compliance/assurance processes
  • Change management capability / experience
  • Business analytic skills (developing reporting, monitoring compliance and implementing improvements)
  • Knowledge of the oil & gas industry including applicable regulatory frameworks and standard risk profile will be advantageous
  • Experience/capability to network effectively with various stakeholders
  • Experience in developing and implementing Risk, Compliance and Assurance management plans
  • Highly developed influencing, negotiation and communication skills
  • Highly developed work activity planning and execution skills
