JOB DESCRIPTION

To assist with the coordination, delivery & the implementation of the risk remediation activities within Institutional Banking & Markets

Specifically:

  • Work across IB&M to assist, lead and co-ordinate IB&M-wide remediation activities including risk and control enhancements , identification of weaknesses and the consistent and effective application of the risk framework
  • Build senior stakeholder relationships to provide guidance and advise on risk management issues, identifying opportunities to improve the risk & control environment
  • To ensure IB&M risk activities, including execution of the Operational Risk Management Framework and the Compliance Risk Management Frameworks are conducted in an end to end fashion ensuring risks and controls are understood across the value chain.
  • Aggregate management information to inform senior management on the execution of the remediation activities across IB&M & its support functions

Engage with relevant stakeholders across IB&M and the wider Group

Manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, and implement controls to mitigate key project risks

Identify and develop mitigation strategies to manage project interdependencies

Support both business and organisational change whilst managing stakeholder expectations

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a relevant Risk, control or operational role within a Financial Services Organisation
  • Understanding and knowledge of the risk and control environment in a major bank, ideally within the Institutional Banking & Markets area
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Strong experience in report writing, presentations, data analysis and reporting of risk insights to business leaders
  • Experience in the assessment of risk culture & good understanding of the Risk Management framework
  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills, stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team driven environment
  • The capacity to work in a busy, commercial, competitive environment and the ability to meet objectives, targets and deliver customer outcomes
