The Head of Divisional Change - Regulatory and Compliance role is part of the Strategic Delivery Portfolio. This is a community of experts at the heart of the Australia Retail & Commercial Division who improve performance so profoundly, we become trusted partners to all we work with. We oversee implementation of the Division's strategy, and lead prioritisation and performance management to ensure delivery of our strategic outcomes and improving divisional execution.


As the Head of Divisional Change - Regulatory and Compliance, you will be in a senior advisory and transformation role across all of Australia Retail & Commercial Division (AR&C). You will ensure ANZ is meeting its compliance and regulatory obligations and be a lead contributor into executive decisions around Division wide work prioritisation to support this. In this role you will lead a team responsible for understanding the forward regulatory agenda and key external changes, how these will impact the Division and engaging with the Divisional leaders on prioritising this change. You will be a thought leader in representing the Division on key Group Compliance Programs and assisting the MD of the Division in governing the Divisional Book of Work to ensure regulations are being met, customer outcomes are delivered and reporting to the Board and other Committees is accurate.
Your key priorities and responsibilities include:
  • Bring industry leading insights to the Division in the Regulatory and Compliance space and partner in with Risk areas, business teams and ANZx to assist in ensuring we deliver solutions that are customer centric, efficient and meet our regulatory obligations.
  • Focusing on the end customer and ANZ risk appetite, ensure that regulatory change programs adequately support the management of risk and ensure governance across the end to end customer journey controls landscape.
  • Play a lead role in assisting the MD, Australia Retail and Commercial form a Divisional view of compliance with regulatory related change and impact of Group Compliance Programs for the Division and escalate items for decision.
  • Provide effective governance of the Divisional Regulatory & Compliance environment and advice, where required, to MD, Australia Retail & Commercial and AR&C Leadership Team that controls are effective for managing regulatory obligations in the Division.
  • Build and line-manage the Regulatory change team, including establishing and maintaining succession plans for key roles.

  • Experience being in a senior leadership role previously
  • Strong degree of know-how and ability to drive strategic initiatives
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing and negotiation skills at an Executive level
  • Deep experience in Regulatory and Compliance and Banking
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Good decision-making ability
