The Credit Risk Analyst is responsible for performing credit analysis, research, risk assessments and recommendations on new lending in accordance with policy and procedures. Their primary objectives are:

  • Assessing risk in new applications and existing portfolios by gathering independent credit reviews;
  • Processing and reviewing applications and independent recommendations;
  • Obtain final credit approvals from Senior Management and Head Office.



  • Review new credit application initiated by Corporate Banking Department to ensure it is in line with the Branch’s Credit Risk Management Policy and Procedures, conduct credit due diligence including but not limited to credit structure, business, financial, sensitivity, industry analysis and conclude credit recommendations to Credit Committee members; Conduct post approval management including Consent, Variation & Waiver request, Periodic and Annual Review in accordance with Branch Credit Policy and Procedures;
  • Liaise with CRO, Head of RMD, Credit Manager, Corporate Banking Department and other external stakeholders to clarify and gain in-depth understanding of proposals and their inherent risks;
  • Liaise with Head Office Credit Approval Department, Risk Management Department or other relevant departments to facilitate/ coordinate credit application, reporting or system development process;
  • On-going post-Approval Monitoring of the Branch’s credit portfolio;;
  • Assist Head of RMD in monitoring and coordinating internal and external audit, in order to improve the Branch’s credit control and to mitigate credit risks;
  • Assist Head of RMD in monitoring and coordinating APRA Credit Review.

Ad Hoc Duties and Projects

  • Assist CRO and Head of RMD to review, update and revise existing Credit policy and Credit procedures;
  • Preparation of Head Office and Branch routine reporting;
  • Working on ad hoc projects as assigned by CRO and Head of RMD on Credit-related matters to improve CEB Sydney Branch’s Credit quality;
  • Providing other ad hoc administrative support to the Risk Management team’s daily operations;
  • Support preparation of regulators and audit inspections.

Credit Committee Meeting

  • Prepare meeting materials including; meeting agenda, Credit submission, and other documents/information to Credit Committee members for noting or endorsement;
  • Liaise with Credit Committee members and other relevant departments to organize and coordinate meeting schedule;
  • Present to the Credit Committee on items on meeting agenda and credit application.


  • Bachelor degree in Commerce, Finance or other related business studies;
  • 2-3 years’ experience within similar role in Corporate/Institutional Banking;
  • Attention to detail, high degree of accuracy;
  • Good understanding and familiarity with Corporate Banking documentations and legal agreements;
  • Good command of English and Chinese;
  • Good communicator, both verbally and in writing at business level;
  • Effective time management and good organizational skills;
  • Good interpersonal skills and good team player;
  • Strong analytical ability and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work independently, while at the same time maintain a good working relationship with team members and counterparts;
  • Highly motivated, capable of multi-tasking, and willingness to learn and develop within the role.
