About the Division

The Investment Control function aligns to the AMP Wealth Management component to service the NM Super - Super Directions Fund (SDF) Master Trust business. The team is a key control function and enabler for the product and investment divisions, and has responsibility across the breadth of investment operations activities which comprise the following Unit Pricing, Transition Management, Vendor Management and Governance and Oversight.

 

About the Role

The Investment Control team plays a strategic role in enabling the execution of product, investment and client initiatives on behalf of the NM Super SDF.

Reporting to the Unit Pricing Manager, the purpose of this role is to act as 2IC to the Unit Pricing Manager to support the BAU operation of the Unit Pricing Team including key unit pricing initiatives and projects.

The role also provides support to the Transition and Implementation Manager in the planning and execution of transition activities including investment menu restructures, client onboarding and other AMP transition related strategic projects.

 

More specifically your responsibilities will be:

  • Sign off unit prices provided by BNP
  • Sign off client cash flows processed by AMP each day
  • Understanding of tax, fees, spreads, benchmarks and other standing data that could potentially impact unit prices
  • Providing technical unit pricing and transitions expertise to support transitions and AMP wide projects
  • Data interpretation, analysis and impact assessments for reporting and presenting to stakeholders
  • Leading and delivering on AMP strategic initiatives which involve Investment Control
  • Process and control design/improvement and implementation
  • Managing and maintaining relationships with BNP, AMP Capital, external fund managers and other stakeholders
  • Issue Management, ensuring issues are managed in accordance with AMP’s Incident Management protocols
  • Risk and Governance reporting
  • Managing the Unit Pricing Team in the Manager’s absence

 

With your proactive mindset and initiative as well as excellent analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills, what we also look for in you is:

  • Degree - Accounting/ Commerce/ Finance
  • Ideally at least 7 years Financial Services industry experience with a superannuation fund or investment management operations end-to end experience
  • Transition management experience preferably gained within a superannuation fund
  • Custodian experience (either working at or with a back office outsource provider)
  • Excellent understanding of investments structures and asset classes; good working knowledge of range of investment securities
  • Excel - advanced
  • Proven stakeholder management skills with excellent verbal and written communication
  • Excellent understanding of Australian regulatory environment and taxation
