Your role

Reporting to the BI Lead- Retail, you are responsible for delivering data-driven insights to facilitate business decisions across Health Insurance, Banking and General Insurance. Forming a detailed understanding of available data assets and with strong Tableau development and data analytics background, you will liaise with key decision makers to recognise business problems, develop bespoke analytical solutions and communicate insights.

In this role you will use SQL Server Management Studio, R/Python for data wrangling and Tableau to develop and publish dashboards, analytical stories, insights and data sources.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop a thorough understanding of Retail data assets, including data quality, timeliness, availability and other data related constraints
  • Build bespoke analytical and reporting solutions using predominantly Tableau to facilitate improved business decisions
  • Write database queries and stored procedures using SQL Server Management Studio and/or cloud service tools to support data visualisation
  • Wrangle/Model data using R/Python for insights and discovery
  • Monitor best-practice design and visualisation concepts and incorporate new Tableau features in the solution design as appropriate
  • Communicate actionable insights to relevant stakeholders via Tableau Stories, presentations and other platforms

About you

You will be an excellent communicator with influential stakeholder management skills, partnered with your analytical and problem-solving mindset you will demonstrate the ability to work in a team with employees at all levels in an organisation. You will have high attention to detail whilst remaining adaptable to dynamic changes in the business.

Other desirable skills/knowledge:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a data-related field
  • Minimum three years Tableau development experience
  • Minimum four years’ experience querying, transforming and visualising data
  • Minimum two years’ experience developing queries in SQL Server
  • Working experience in R/Python
  • Desirable – PHI industry experience
  • Desirable – Tableau Certifications
  • Desirable – SSIS development experience
  • Desirable – Tableau site/server management experience
