We are looking for an energetic finance specialist who understands both business and residential lending to join our team with a long term perspective in order to promote our brand and develop long-lasting customer relationships.

This positions core business is driven by Business and Commercial Finance from a nationwide network, experience in secured, unsecured business lending is essential. Working with our team for internal referrals and external referrers, you will use your motivation, drive and relationship skills to process and manage an existing and growing portfolio.

The Alliance Group service clients Nationwide - no regional, exposure or industry sector limitations to portfolio growth or volume. The suitable candidate will have huge scope to expand their knowledge of a large variety of lender policy and a diverse range of loan types.

The role entails:

The role is primarily with $500k-$5m business exposure & requires a confident personality with excellent communication skills who is able to drive new business and successfully convert live applications. You will be someone who understands all facets of lending and credit reasoning and will therefore be confident in communicating with colleagues and clients, guiding them to make the correct decisions with their business and personal finance needs. You will also be someone who takes responsibility for your own efforts and are therefore self-motivated both in and out of the office. There are five essential elements to success in this role: client empathy, honesty, attention to detail, strong negotiation skills and a team approach.

Our broker network and processing support team will call on your knowledge for deal placement across our full range of lenders. You will also be expected to write complex business applications.

What we'd like from our candidate:

  • 3-5 years finance or business lending experience
  • Or >5 years business/asset lending experience within a bank
  • Certificate IV in Finance/Mortgage Broking (preferred)
  • Tertiary qualification in a related field (preferred)
  • Strong business lending background & leasing experience (preferred)
  • A good team player with a long term perspective
  • Excellent sales skills
  • Excellent credit knowledge
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills and attention to detail
  • A passion for finance and financial problem solving
  • Ability to identify cross-sell opportunities
  • A proactive and pre-emptive approach to processing loan submissions
  • A strong appreciation for client service, client empathy, client integrity and authentic client relationships with an ability and desire to develop long standing client relationships
