Your role

Reporting to the Head of Actuarial Services - Retail, the Pricing and Performance Actuary - Retail is responsible for providing actuarial support to the business in areas of performance monitoring, portfolio management and distribution optimisation. You will also support the Head of Actuarial Services and the Appointed Actuary in key actuarial functions including reserving, capital management, financial condition monitoring and regulatory reporting.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Leading the provision of actuarial analysis and technical advice to the Product team in product design and pricing, and in product closures and policy migrations
Leading actuarial control of product portfolio management through:
provision of insights, recommendations and advice to Products (including advice on appropriate risk management framework)
carry out or supervise the assessment of financial and capital implications of product proposals
design and supervise the implementation of appropriate associated monitoring
Providing actuarial input and advice to the business in relation to the creation of a product and channel optimisation framework
Developing financial modelling tools to inform optimisation decisions in a timely manner
Responsible for monitoring of fund and industry trends
Preparing of monthly and quarterly experience monitoring reports
Supporting the production of the annual financial condition report
Assisting in the annual premium round process by providing analytical, data reconciliation and technical review support
Providing technical review support in the monthly, quarterly and annual insurance liability estimation and regulatory capital calculations
Providing input to the annual review of variability assumptions in relation to movements arising from changes to strategies, etc
Supporting the annual review of capital and liquidity management plans

About you

You will be a qualified or partially qualified actuary with 5+ years of commercial actuarial experience in health, general or life insurance.

To be successful in this role you will have;

Tertiary qualifications in commerce, statistics or actuarial science. Other disciplines may also be considered.
High proficiency in Excel, Word and Powerpoint
Familiarity with database software such as SQL, SAS and R.
