Qscan Group is a leading provider of premium radiology specialist services across Australia, aimed at providing trusted analysis, excellence in delivery and compassionate care.


The Group Chief Financial Officer position is to be the primary executive for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the Group. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, job costing, legal, deal analysis and negotiations, investor relationships and partnership compliance and private and institutional financing. This position will require you to support the Group CEO on delegated tasks as required from time to time.

Key responsibilities:


Finance and Financial Reporting

  • Manage and control all finance-related activity for the Qscan Group of companies and any of its employing entities.
  • Direct and control the activities of taxation, accounting, investment policy, expense control, insurance and insurance.
  • Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the Group.
  • Oversee transactions and business decisions to optimise their impact on the P&L and Balance Sheet.
  • To ensure the veracity of reported results and ensure that financial accounting is in line with international accounting standards
  • To develop and monitor the company’s annual budget, providing analyses, commentary and annualised forecasts to management and the Board.
  • Ensure finance credibility by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts.
  • Improve the financial reporting systems from their current state to a system that is accurate and supportive of the business. This will include managing the integration and development of current systems and processes Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation and reporting to the Group
  • Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities.


Finance Strategy

  • Provides leadership in the development for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
  • Evaluates and advises on the impact of long-range planning, the introduction of new programs/ strategies and regulatory action.
  • Develop and provide meaningful strategic, financial and commercial decision-making support to the leadership team with a focus on financial projections
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives to identify their needs and seek a full range of business
  • solutions.
  • Assess key investment decisions for risk against internal benchmark returns
  • Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with management to contribute to the growth and financial success across the business


Compliance

  • Manage the company’s audit and risk programs
  • Manage the company’s corporate governance, legal affairs, statutory and secretarial matters.
  • Manage the assets of the Company so that they are accurately reflected on the balance sheet and risk is minimised
  • Adherence to Group’s governance and compliance requirements, ensuring that due diligence is taken in all financial matters
  • Complete appropriate reporting and documentation requirements, as requested by the Group Chief Executive Officer.
  • Promote a culture of quality amongst the finance team and communicate the need for individuals to understand their contribution to quality outcomes within the Group.


Leadership

  • Review the finance structure to ensure business needs are met in a timely and efficient manner
  • Provide team and organisational leadership which inspires high performing teams, who remain engaged and focused on achieving the Group’s strategic outcomes.
  • Act in line with Qscan Group behavioural charter being a role model to other staff and managers.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture that improves teamwork with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Define and monitor performance against relevant metrics and KPIs to maintain optimal workforce efficiency and competence.



Background & Qualifications:


  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Business Accounting or Finance
  • At least 10 years experience in accounting or finance, including a minimum of 5 years in a management role. Previous CFO experience at a large Private or a Public Company is essential
  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial management including tax, compliance, business planning, investments and financial reporting.
  • Extensive knowledge and abilities in the management of financial systems, budgets and reporting financial information to a variety of stakeholders including boards and project teams.
  • Extensive experience in successful selection & implementation of financial and operational planning tools to deliver ambitious results
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations essential.
  • Consultative approach to cohesive stakeholder management, with sound experience in strategic
  • planning.
  • Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
  • Possess a post-graduate certificate such as MBA or similar.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving and delivering successful outcomes in inorganic growth (M&A) as well as organic growth initiatives
