About the Role


The primary purpose of this position is to support the reconciliation and investigation of outstanding items in the Bank’s general ledger and bank accounts and to support the preparation of the settlement reconciliations for the Bank’s payment clearing streams.


The role is also responsible for supporting the reconciliation, investigation and review of branch and ATM reconciliations and involves the preparation of general ledger vouchers. The role will also expand to assist financial accounting as required once initial training is complete.


Support the Reconciliation Officer with the following tasks:


  • The Daily balancing of Settlements between BOQ and Financial Institutions
  • The balancing of the Cash Sheet through the reconciliation of the Manual and Online Bank Cheque reports.
  • The reconciliation of the branch network’s daily summary of business so as to produce a report that provides information which is to be taken up in the Bank’s daily balancing process.
  • Daily balancing of the ATM Summary and the reconciliation of the Suspense Branch Cash Transfers account. Daily assistance to the branch network in relation to the balancing of their ATM’s and includes consistent follow-up of any problems that they may be experiencing in balancing.
  • The daily reconciliation of the various Bank’s General Ledger suspense and current accounts.
  • To review all general ledger vouchers entered on-line by the branch network and head office vouchers, so as to isolate and correct any irregularities which may have occurred.
  • Provision of efficient service to other bank’s requests for special answers on bank cheques.
  • Ability to identify and resolve general ledger related issues on a timely basis.
