The Portfolio Manager role has been created within the Enterprise Program Management function of Homes Victoria to support the organisation to effectively deliver on its Big Housing Build and other commitments. Given the importance of the strategic programs being delivered, an effective program management capability is critical to ensure that programs are effectively and proactively managed.

The role will manage a small team that works closely with the branches to embed fit for purpose approaches to, and ongoing tracking of, program, risk and performance management. You will work with stakeholders to provide advice and support covering short term priorities and longer-term capability uplift including effective use of digital program management tools. 

Are you:

  • An experienced portfolio manager with a strong track record of managing project portfolios across a diverse set of project types (e.g. construction, asset management and service design/delivery) and scales?
  • Effective at collaborating to generate effective program management procedures and practices that are fit for purpose and embed a proactive approach to managing costs, quality, schedules, and outcomes?
  • Experienced at managing all stages of the project lifecycle; stage gating requirements, milestone and benefit identification (preferably with experience of the High Value High Risk, HVHR, Project Assurance Framework)?
  • Passionate about the value and importance of maximising program outcomes in dynamic operating environments and enjoy leading others to realise team objectives?
