We have a newly created 12-month fixed term role for a Senior Communications Manager to lead an integral program of work that will focus on telling our risk story as a subset of the strategic narrative. Reporting to the Head of Internal Engagement this role will engage across the enterprise, developing and implementing communication strategies for our Risk program of work. Leveraging existing enterprise channels and developing new and appropriate divisional channels to support the organisation’s commercial objectives and enable stronger employee engagement.

Ideally this role will be based in one of our main office locations in Melbourne, Adelaide or Bendigo for the days that the team are in the office together, and then other days you’ll be working from home to help better balance your life and work.


As the Senior Communications Manager - Risk you will:

  • Lead the development of various communication strategies to effectively articulate our strategy, purpose, and vision with respect to risk compliance and best practice.
  • Be a key member of the Internal Engagement team and ensure consistent narrative, channels, sequencing alignment of communications, plans and activities
  • Develop and manage the delivery of content and events, using both traditional and digital communication channels to drive change, stronger employee engagement, and cohesion
  • Bring the brand’s voice to life using effective communications fit for purpose across diverse audiences and channels with a focus on cross functional communications to break down silos
  • Define and measure success metrics to ensure communications are evaluated and continuously improved
  • Develop and foster influential relationships with all key internal and external stakeholders
  • Lead and coach the business to create compelling narratives


To be successful in the role, you'll have:

  • A relevant tertiary degree in Communications, Marketing, or related discipline
  • Significant prior experience as a communications professional in a large, complex organisation (internal or agency) with Banking and Finance industry knowledge preferred
  • Knowledge and a genuine interest in the subject of risk compliance
  • Advanced capability developing and implementing successful communication and engagement strategies and activities
  • Proven ability to write, edit, and proofread communication across traditional and digital channels
  • Advanced Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project skills
  • Confidence developing relationships at all levels and influencing senior stakeholders
  • A natural problem solving, proactive, organised approach
