Senior Corporate Financial Advisor

As the State’s central financial services provider, Western Australian Treasury Corporation (WATC) has enabled the State to finance significant projects such as Optus Stadium and Elizabeth Quay. We care about the financial health of WA’s public sector agencies and work with them to provide access to a comprehensive range of corporate finance, debt and investment, financial markets, risk management and foreign exchange products and advisory services.

About the role:

This is an exciting and unique opportunity to join a multi-disciplinary team tasked with evaluating key projects to support the long-term economic development of the State.

You will thrive on working in a dynamic and challenging environment as you research and develop public sector project and infrastructure business cases and investment proposals as well as underpinning financial and economic models to achieve State outcomes. You will liaise with senior management across state agencies on the application of policy and frameworks with respect to business case development; manage investment justifications and appraisal methodologies and assessments, provide specialist investment appraisal advice and recommendations on investment prioritisation including strategic merit, maturity, benefit and cost of infrastructure; project managing; collecting, collating, compiling and analysing financial information; synthesising and consolidating insights, continuous improvement of processes and methodologies, training delivery, advocacy, stakeholder engagement and representation.

About you:

We are seeking a positive and approachable person who enjoys collaborating within a team and with public sector clients and is passionate about being a part of the WATC advisory team. Your proactive approach and ability to remain agile in a high-pressure environment will be key to your success in the role.

Our ideal candidate will be a critical thinker with excellent excel modelling, interpersonal and organisational skills.

We need someone who can:

  • apply advanced financial, corporate finance and economic modelling and analysis.
  • establish and maintain excellent working relationships with stakeholders and partner agencies.
  • ensure advice and recommendations are robust and evidenced-based.
  • collect, collate and analyse data and information in line with appropriate justifications and methodologies.
  • coordinate, track and report on progress of projects against deliverables and identifying emerging issues.
  • prepare timely and accurate presentations and reports for government departments and agency clients.
