Your new role
As a Discharges Assessor, you will be responsible for assessing Partial Discharge, Refinance and Debt Repaid requests received from solicitors, lenders and customers. You will be part of a team that makes a difference to their customers every single day. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Being committed to putting the customers at the heart of everything you do.
  • Assess the viability of customer application/request by determining the accuracy of information provided and ensure compliance to standards.
  • Preparation of discharge documents for settlement and registration and post registration activities.
  • Workflow Coordination - allocating work to the team based on priorities and SLAs, completing full discharge requests received from customers, solicitors, and lenders.
  • Answering calls and resolving a variety of requests and enquiries from lenders, brokers, conveyancers and customers where required
  • Calculating and advising solicitors, settlement agents and/or customers of loan payout figures regarding impending settlements, discharges and debt repaid activities.
  • Verify documents, check mortgage and title details and complete other administrative tasks in readiness for Discharges Assessors to complete Assessment
  • Verify all documentation is correct and address quality deficiencies in order to meet standard expectations of the bank, regulatory bodies and as per Westpac Credit Policy.
  • Working with Mortgage Credit Experts and stakeholders to ensure any exceptions outside the credit guidelines are managed and resolved appropriately

  • Previous experience in this role or similar will be highly regarded Banking experience or qualifications would be advantageous, but not essential
  • Previous Collections experience and/or a qualification in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Economics or Legal Studies will be highly regarded.
