Job Description

As an Operational Excellence Manager, you’ll work to discover and solve for problems around how well equipped we are as a business to provide best in class service to our customers. You will have a knack for driving enablement capabilities particularly looking at frameworks and processes that increase quality of our service across digital and non-digital channels. Your role will be under our Everyday Banking line of business – think transaction accounts, savings, payments and rewards.

How will I help?

  • You’ll collaborate with our bankers, operations, product and delivery teams to define and deliver the business process improvements.
  • You’ll be driven to constantly learn our ways of working and develop new frameworks to solve for problems to drive faster delivery of customer solutions
  • You’ll take responsibility for devising and executing winning plans that are technically doable and commercially viable… managing the challenges along the way.
  • You will take a leadership role in managing the enablement capability of the business
  • You’ll rally others around the strategy, using data to answer the “how” questions for product managers and directors
  • You’ll help the team focus, explaining what NOT to deliver… yet
  • You’ll be endlessly curious to understand technology constraints and possibilities
  • You’ll understand the organizational structure and work collaboratively with digital and non-digital teams to deliver best in class service proposition

What do I need?

You’ll be able to demonstrate and prove experience of:
  • Strong experience as an Operational Excellence practitioner in a highly complex environment. Financial Services experience is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Drive operational maturity across non-operations teams
  • Build the capability from the ground up
  • Able to articulate value of change and recommendations coming from your team
  • Analysing data and extracting insights
  • Skills to lead a matrix team in an agile environment
  • Creating effective teamwork across traditional organisational boundaries
  • Build process where there are gaps in our Value chain
  • Delivering complex projects using agile delivery practices
