About the role

Due to a healthy appetite for talented risk managers, we are on the hunt for an energetic and experienced Operational Risk and Compliance Analyst to partner with our fab Risk team. This exciting opportunity will see you mingle with peeps across our multi-layered banking landscape, providing 1 st line risk and compliance supporting to our 2 nd line Risk, Regulatory Affairs teams and the office of the CEO.

Now down to the nitty gritty… by using your core compliance and operational risk domain expertise, and strong understanding of applicable regulatory regimes, you will develop and execute regulatory compliance obligations plan for our Risk team, as well as monitor and remediate the Audit and Regulator findings. You’ll be paramount in updating the risk profiles, adding or modifying controls and updating our controls assurance plan.

What’s exciting about this role is you’ll get to drive the assessment of introduced risks for any of the really cool projects that are happening here at ME!

Being a risk campaigner will come naturally to you – you’ll leverage off the already sound risk aware culture, inclusive of a self-reporting ethos to raise awareness of operational incidents, our compliance obligations and prioritise actions to address. And of course you’ll do all of this with a smile!

About you

Numbers, analysing, compliance and problem solving is your thang! As our trusted risk advisor and business enabler, you approach your accountabilities with commercial pragmatism, a healthy dose of scepticism, and intellectual curiosity. Not only that, you are solutions focused and the type of person who is not afraid to speak up and call out emerging risks and issues – yip, you have the courage to raise issues thoughtfully and can recommend and reach agreements on the right actions to address.

With your ‘been there, done that’ experience you ooze operational risk and compliance. Because of this, you will have well developed senior stakeholder management skills with the ability to consult and influence effectively both internally and externally. You are someone who enjoys and can work independently, demonstrates a high attention to detail in their work and loves ambiguity within an ever-changing environment.
