JOB DESCRIPTION

The CFS Middle Office Department is responsible for ensuring all aspects of operations for clients are completed, transactions are processed on time, exceptions are resolved proactively; provide single point of contact team and subject matter expertise to the clients. Middle Office covers trade instruction capture, settlement; fail management, cash instruction capture, projections, overdrafts, asset servicing instruction capture, dividends, foreign exchange, collateral, derivatives lifecycle management and bank loans.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising and building out a high performing team and managing their development and mentoring
  • Review and enhance the team governance to ensure we operate in a controlled and robust environment
  • Provide the client with excellent client service
    • Speedy resolution of queries
    • Understanding of areas such as Settlements, Corporate Actions, FX, Strategy, Tax and Income.
    • Know your client so that you can proactively manage expectations
    • Build professional working relationships with your clients to better understand their behaviour, requirements and motivations
  • Drive resolution and management of client queries, leveraging internal teams globally and regionally as appropriate.
  • Identify technology and process issues and gaps that can lead to risk and poor client service and working with Strategy and other internal stakeholders ensure we get resolutions for our clients.
  • Monitoring and resolution of risk indicators to ensure that both J.P. Morgan and the client are aware of any issues that may have an adverse financial or reputational impact
  • Supporting a variety of projects and trading initiatives involving process improvement, system implementation, new product or new market rollouts

To be successful you will need:
  • Prior custody & fund services, markets or prime brokerage operational experience along with supervising staff
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills including taking the initiative to drive change and enhance controls
  • Ability to manage through a changing business landscape
  • Candidate must have a control focused agenda, and a thorough understanding of program/project risk
  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills including the ability to communicate strategic messages clearly and consistently with the team, making linkages to individual goals and accomplishments
  • Strong relationship management and partnership with a large array of constituents; ability to manage by influence to promote change
