Job Description

How will I help?

This role is to support the Head of Risk Workstreams in the successful delivery of Non-Risk sponsored workstreams in the Customer Outcomes Risk Excellence (CORE) program.

This Senior Manager role is responsible for managing Risk’s contribution to workstreams that are run outside of the Risk Division. This includes monitoring, guiding, and supporting these non-Risk workstreams to ensure Risk delivers on any commitments as part of activity design, implementation and embed to the requisite audit-level standards.

Key activities for this role include:

  • Supporting the Head of Risk Workstreams and Central CORE Program in driving any agreed actions by the Risk team in support of non-Risk streams.
  • Supporting the Program Managers of the non-Risk workstreams by ensuring all commitments are delivered to the requisite quality and in line with the agreed timing.
  • Working with all key stakeholders, particular the Program Managers, to ensure all required evidence is documented and provided in a timely manner.
  • Establishing reporting mechanisms to provide transparency on progress toward agreed outcomes.
  • Escalating any roadblocks, along with proposed options, in a timely manner.
  • Liaison with CORE Central team, Second and Third Line functions for any Program or audit related reviews and requests for information.
  • Proactively manage risks, issues and assumptions in line with Westpac’s delivery framework requirements.
  • Strong stakeholder management to execute on planned activities.

What do I need?

You bring with you experience in Risk and Assurance and possess a strong working knowledge of program management disciplines.

Demonstrable experience in writing Board papers (or equivalent reports for senior stakeholders) will be essential for success in this role as is the ability to formulate and implement strategy whilst influencing stakeholders of all levels.

You’ll be able to take complex information/data and be comfortable in translating this in a way that all stakeholders will understand and work with the team to relay this to the business.

Tertiary qualifications in business/learning or other related fields will be advantageous but not essential.
