About Your Impact And Contribution

The purpose of the role is to lead and execute strategic projects of work for the Bank’s Business Banking product suite across all sales segments to honour the commitments the Bank has made to customers, regulators and communities.

You will be accountable for delivering major projects of work on time, on budget and with sustainable outcomes, implement critical change projects to improve the way the business manages risk, and to simplify processes and product offerings.

About Your New Role

As a successful Project Manager within the Capability Management team, you will leverage your in-depth knowledge of the Banking and Finance Industry to:
  • Drive delivery of complex and large projects of work
  • Identify solutions to known customer or industry challenges
  • Operate collaboratively and influentially with internal and external stakeholders to deliver key initiatives

Your Core Responsibilities Include
  • Adhere to the Code of Conduct . The Code of Conduct sets the standards of behavior, actions and decisions we expect from our people.
  • Oversight of project portfolio roadmap, sequencing of initiatives and project prioritisation
  • Responsibility for the successful delivery of strategic initiatives and associated strategic objectives across the Bank’s Business Banking portfolio
  • Adherence to the Bank’s Group Delivery Framework, tracking and reporting during all phases of the project, escalating key issues and risks to the appropriate stakeholders in a timely and constructive manner
  • Operationalization and execution against strategy: work closely with sales and product teams (and external clients as required), back office and relevant stakeholders (e.g. risk, IT, finance, marketing) to drive positive change and innovation that delivers an optimal customer experience across digital, distribution and operations teams
  • Project management: Leverage change, stakeholder and project management skills to develop and deliver quality outcomes against project schedules and benefits, working collaboratively with internal and external clients
  • Risk & Compliance: Liaise with Product risk, Operational risk & Compliance to ensure assigned projects are implemented with a complete risk review and controls in place
  • External Compliance: Ensure that all product and initiative developments are fully compliant with external requirements (particularly Card Schemes). Monitor developments in compliance and ensure that initiative development pipelines encompass emerging compliance requirements
  • Support the EM Capability Management to provide updates on key initiatives to key leadership teams and other key stakeholder meetings, as required
  • Leading process improvement initiatives: promote process excellence and better ways of working and delivering projects.

About Your Experience And Skills
  • Risk Mindset –All CommBank employees are expected to proactively identify and understand, openly discuss and act on current and future risks.
  • Proven track record in Project Management and in driving/implementing strategic priorities
  • Strong attention to detail and proven ability to work strategically; with the ability to see the bigger picture
  • Strong ability to lead project team and drive successful outcomes
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills
  • Strong influencing skills and an ability to build rapport across cross-functional stakeholder groups
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and strategic thinking capabilities
  • Operational product expertise preferred
  • Experience with agile project management skill set
  • Finance, Business experience essential
  • 3+ years Project Management experience essential
  • Applicable and relevant University qualification preferred
  • 3+ years product development/management experience preferred
