Who We Are Looking For

As SPDR ETF Fixed Income Investment Strategist you will be responsible for representing internally and externally our Fixed Income ETFs and how to best position and employ them in investor portfolios. This position champions the strategic growth of SPDR’s fixed income products by supporting the SPDR distribution team as a subject matter expert across the sales cycle, supporting prospecting through to closing business and retention. This includes partnering with the distribution and marketing teams to author, communicate and provide detailed technical expertise on investment strategies and how such strategies can be implemented by our clients.

Mirroring the distribution footprint of the SPDR ETF distribution team in Asia Pacific, this role will provide subject matter expertise and support the teams in Japan, Australia, Hong Kong & Singapore.

What You Will Be Responsible For

As SPDR ETF Fixed Income Investment Strategist you will

  • Collaborate closely with our Global fixed income portfolio managers and analysts to cultivate a deep understanding of the investment approach, underlying securities and results in order to represent all facets of the product internally and externally.
  • Works closely with SPDR’s Asia Pacific distribution and marketing teams to position fixed income strategies with targeted clients and prospects within the four focused countries in the Asia Pacific region, to achieve SPDR Fixed Income net new assets and revenue targets.
  • Develop and deliver investment, market and business communications to existing and prospective clients in one-on-one, small group, and large audience presentations.
  • Provide updates on overall financial markets performance, economic trends and the overall investment outlook as articulated by SSGA’s investment teams
  • Become a spokesperson with the ability to present a deep understanding of the fixed income investment process, market outlook, and strong advocate for the services
  • Prepare for client meetings, including updating presentation materials, portfolio review, competitor analysis and market update slides.
  • Continually create new sales ideas/ways to advocate products across the target markets;
  • Work closely with other SPDR and SSGA teams, including Marketing, Product and Capital Markets to develop and maintain relevant marketing materials.
  • Carry out market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities and gaps in the market at internal weekly meetings

Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree qualified or equivalent with a financial or analytical discipline preferred
  • CFA qualified or progress towards the qualification is desirable
  • At least 10 years working in financial services is a must with some experience in a sales and product specialist role and extensive experience with the fixed income asset class
  • Exposure to financial systems such as FactSet, Morningstar Direct, and Bloomberg helpful
  • Proficiency in the practical applications of statistics, finance and economics to investment management is required
