Your New Role

The main purpose of this role is to support the Queensland Financial Markets team in proactively managing the existing portfolio of clients whilst helping to drive New to Product and New to Bank customer opportunities.

As the Senior Associate you will be responsible for working to maximise internal and external relationships through regular client meetings, attendance in sales meeting, pipeline accountability and account planning. You will play a critical role in supporting the sales franchise and working with key stakeholders across BOQ Business to refine the operating model, including the introduction of BOQ’s new Foreign Exchange Platform.

Key Accountabilities
  • Assist and manage a diverse portfolio of Financial Markets & Trade Finance clients
  • Help to target new to FM business from within the entire BOQ network
  • Work collaboratively with the team to find new business through existing networks and proactive targeting
  • Support account planning and sales strategies within the team
  • Assist with Annual reviews for existing client banking facilities
  • Assist with new lending / facility applications
  • Oversight of Customer data to ensure it remains complete and accurate
  • Develop further key skills and knowledge as outlined across the key products of Trade Finance, Foreign Exchange and Interest Rate Risk Management.
  • Help to grow people and product capability
What You Will Need To Be Successful
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • You will have a successful history in new client origination as well as existing client relationship management
  • Well-honed negotiation & influencing skills combined with excellent ability to communicate with people
  • A solid understanding of business banking within Queensland
  • A good understanding of Foreign Exchange and Trade Finance. Interest Rate Risk Management experience would be an added advantage.
  • Take initiative and be propelled by a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Comfortable working with a diverse group whilst always being able to get involved in team collaboration to get the job done
