This is a fantastic opportunity for a strategic thinker with exceptional analytical skills who has prior experience in the product development and management function of a financial services entity.

The Product and Pricing Manager will primarily be responsible for supporting the distribution strategy of the business through the management of existing products, assessment, development and implementation of new products and monitoring and setting premium rates offered in the market.

This role is responsible for ensuring that the team supports the strategy through the development and implementation of a rigorous product management structure and methodology, product development and policy changes designed to maintain the value proposition for LMI whilst achieving appropriate returns for the business.

In addition, the role is responsible for analysis and reporting of customer benchmarking insights and business modelling to assess potential new business contracts, products and markets and influence pricing decisions.

What you can expect from the role

  • Product development – manage the entire product development process including concept development, requirement generation, feasibility analysis, forecasting, modelling and change management for both new products and changes to existing products.
  • Product management – monitor existing product offering for opportunities to improve customer value proposition, operational efficiency, profitability or respond to regulatory change and manage improvement process.
  • Insight generation – develop strategic reports for internal and external stakeholders, engage with functional reporting teams to include in ongoing reports when required. Internal to include customer performance and profitability analysis. External to include analysis on Genworth portfolio to include portfolio reporting suites to customer base and other third parties such as aggregators/originators, including benchmarking and market intelligence analysis such as external forces, regulatory and economic changes.
  • Pricing – support the pricing leader in developing pricing recommendations and options, including modelling and memo development for contract opportunities, pricing model enhancements, historical performance analysis and internal/external stakeholder management.
  • Collaborate with cross functional leaders to understand and improve business decision making frameworks as they relate to commercial decisions/plans and serve as commercial representative for working groups and committees. 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • University degree preferably Commerce or Business Administration. Accreditation with Institute of Chartered accountant or CPA preferred
  • Experience in the product development and management function of a financial services entity
  • Deep knowledge of the Australian financial services industries and well versed in banking regulations is highly preferred
  • Strong excel and financial modelling skills
  • Strong Commercial Acumen, project management skills and business judgment
  • Ability to build solid relationships, drive change and influence people at all levels within Genworth and senior lender contacts
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast paced, high volume environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and collaborative approach; ability to work effectively with both executives and operational staff and manage stakeholder groups
