Robert Walters are excited to exclusively partner with an ASX listed Australian business that is a leader in their field, for the recruitment of a Head of Risk which forms an integral part of their business. About the Head of Risk role:
The Head of Risk will have oversight and management of the company’s risk, take lead on developing the function and improving awareness, as well as playing an important part in implementing GRC systems.

Reporting directly into an executive, this position will also lead a small team, advise on a variety of risk matters, develop and maintain risk framework policies and report on the group’s enterprise-wide risk function. Key stakeholders that this role will work closely with include the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), CEO and Chair of the ARMC, and wider management group.

As the Head of Risk, you will:
Maintain the risk management framework to ensure that risk is minimised, mitigated, or discouraged, in line with the company’s risk appetite, across all business units.
Provide advice and undertake regular reviews with risk owners to ensure the effectiveness (and documentation) of internal controls.
Provide direction and support in relation to the administration, identification, measurement, control and review of strategic, and operational risk registers.
Manage the quarterly reporting of the company’s risk registers, including the ELT engagement in relation to preparation of quarterly risk updates for the ARMC and Board.
Develop and provide training to employees on risk related matters while working with the ELT and People & Culture function to foster a culture of appropriate risk taking.

To be successful in this position, you will demonstrate:
5+ years’ experience in similar role with demonstrated experience in developing a risk function.
Formal training or qualifications in a risk related discipline, such as internal audit, risk management and/or chartered accounting.
Previous exposure to financial services, technology or payment services is highly desirable
Experience in implementing and developing GRC systems
Strong communication skills and a demonstrated track record of influencing stakeholders to drive risk-aware business outcomes
Excellent verbal and written presentation skills with proven experience presenting at an executive/board
