The Role

The Insurance Projects team partners and collaborates with the Insurance business to help the business achieve its goals. The Insurance Projects team is accountable for the end to end planning, execution and governance of strategic projects

This role is accountable for supporting portfolio management with accurate and robust financial management to manage Insurance projects within the allocated budget

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to;
  • Support the planning, supply management, prioritisation of the Insurance Portfolio with robust financial management and reporting
  • Oversee and report on portfolio finances – cost and benefit analysis and reconciliation.
  • Oversee cost and benefit forecasting, including reviewing project level forecast accuracy.
  • Assess financial information and provide insights into portfolio trends, risks and issues
  • Support portfolio planning with financial analysis and modelling to support decision making
  • Champion best in class financial practices across portfolio and project delivery
  • Responsible for establishing and continuously improving Insurance Projects financial policies, standards and controls to support the effective delivery of projects and programs
  • Execute quality reviews to assure adherence to processes and procedures, providing coaching and training to the delivery community
  • Facilitate project finance processes with a focus on cost efficiencies in collaboration with project teams
  • Support the team development through effective coaching, mentoring and professional development of fellow team members


Skills & Experience
  • A finance qualification or industry experience is highly desired
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in financial management
  • Experience in project and portfolio management
  • Strong operational knowledge of the business
  • Experience working on large corporate projects
  • Strong experience in portfolio and project financial management
  • Sound knowledge of Portfolio Governance methods
  • Strong and proven stakeholder management skills
  • Strong ability to analyse data and visually represent information.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of risk management and assurance concepts
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven ability to guide and influence decision making at management level.
