The Role

Suncorp Personal Injury Claims (PIC) aspires to be the leading personal injury insurer. Due to exciting internal progression we have an opportunity for a Claims Advisor to join our CTP Claims business. This busy and varied role will see you managing a complex portfolio of CTP claims comprising of catastrophically injured claimants, higher value claims and interstate claims, from inception, investigating liability, providing reasonable and appropriate treatment and rehabilitation, gathering and analysing medical and financial documentation, assessing the value of the claim and negotiating settlement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively manage a portfolio of complex claims in accordance with legislative, regulatory and procedural guidelines to achieve cost effective and timely claim resolution.
  • Overall management of individual claims to ensure appropriate strategies are followed in order to proactively resolve claims quickly for the injured customer
  • Utilise computer systems and technology to manage work, time and processes efficiently
  • Build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders to discuss and seek advice in relation to claims decisions, including decisions relating to rehabilitation and file direction to ensure customer expectations are met and exceeded.
  • Requirement to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a high performing team.
  • Effectively communicate decisions and negotiate to achieve successful outcomes over the phone and in person at compulsory conferences.
  • Develop skill sets and expand knowledge through mentoring and attending internal and external training/seminars.

Skills & Experience
  • At least 3 years’ experience with managing a portfolio of CTP claims
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Law, Insurance or related filed - Desired
  • High standard of written communication across traditional and electronic communication media
  • Ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy for the customer who has sustained genuine serious injuries through no fault of their own
