Purpose 
The purpose of the Pricing Data Analyst role is to drive strategic, fact based approaches to pricing decisions, balancing outcomes from a revenue, funding and customer perspective.
Using your outstanding analytical and problem solving skills to help set and deliver the pricing strategy, design and build financial models to assist strategic decision making for emerging ANZ retail and commercial products

About
This is a new role within the transformation program so you will be part of roadmap and strategy sessions which help develop new pricing propositions that aligns with broader ANZ products and strategy.

  • Build robust data assets to enable analysis to generate insights into pricing and portfolio performance 
  • Data wrangling, visualisation and exploration to extract insights to inform pricing strategies
  • Assisting with the design of optimal pricing scenarios for ANZ products
  • Implementing a statistically sound approach to measure the effectiveness of a proposed pricing strategy
  • Clearly communicate and present ideas and outcomes to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Model new and existing offerings across marketing activities, channels, offers, segments, credit risk strategies and the competitive landscapes
  • Source data from a variety of platforms (Oracle, SQL, Server, Teradata) to combine, synthesise and analyse to generate insights of current state processes and solutions 

About You.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills are a must as you will be working cross functionally across various Value Streams, Products, Governance, Assurance, Treasury, Finance.

  • Proficiency with tools and techniques for analysis, data, manipulation and presentation (e.g SQL, Python, Tableau, QlikView / Qliksense) 
  • Strong understanding of retail banking products and pricing 
  • Strong ability to translate data insights into practical business recommendations 
  • A sound understanding of standard statistical methods and optimisation approaches
  • Digitally savvy, we’re building a digital first approach to helping customers. You’ll need to be comfortable working in a technology environment that iterates on products after they go live. 

Nice to have

  • A degree in a numerate discipline such as mathematics, actuarial studies, machine learning, engineering, or IT (postgraduate qualification preferred)
  • Proficiency and experience in programming languages in SAS, SQL, R or Python
  • A sound understanding of home loans, deposits, commercial lending, treasury or related businesses is desired but not essential.
