About the role

An opportunity has arisen for an Asset Finance Assistant who will be supporting a high performing Asset Finance team. The Asset Finance team is responsible for assessing commercial applications for a range of BOQ Finance customers. This is a high volume, fast paced role where you will contribute to the bank through the application of the bank’s credit policy and BOQ Groups “Know your Client” (KYC) processes.

This role is necessary to assess the credit risk on commercial transactions for BOQ Finance on new business transactions and to identify and verify the identity of the customer. This role would be suited for an individual with demonstrated experience working in similar roles within the financial sector that require a high level of attention to detail, compliance and process coordination.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying customers under The Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 (AML/CTF Act) and Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Rules 2007 (AML/CTF Rules) via BOQ Groups process.
  • Assess credit risk on commercial transactions for BOQ Finance
  • Administration of submissions to the relevant parties
  • Provide timely turnaround of tasks within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Adherence to high volume and efficient turnaround times and high productivity whilst maintaining appropriate credit and business standards
  • Undertake and complete tasks/projects assigned by the Asset Finance Manager which contribute to the efficient and effective operation of the team

About you

To be successful in this role you will have the below skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Previous experience in the finance industry would be advantageous
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact and build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work autonomously in a team environment.
  • Demonstrates initiative and a drive for urgency and efficiency
  • You will be able to learn quickly and maintain the confidence and flexibility to take on any task
