The team is responsible for maintaining and managing the central systems that support the key products and services underpinning the Retail & Commercial division for ANZ bank, including Home, Business and Personal Loans; Deposits, Investment and Savings accounts; and consumer and commercial Credits Cards; as well as supporting Payments, Open Banking, Institutional - We are literally at the core of the bank, and almost every activity a customer or a banker does in some way connects to and relies on the Core Systems.

What will your day look like?

As Core Systems is at the heart of ANZ bank, we are relied upon by many parts of the organisation. Managing the varying expectations and needs of all these parties while balancing the strategic aims of the organisation to ensure we deliver the right outcome at the right time is a challenge - The Engagement Lead role is being established to address this.

Typically on any given day, Core Systems will be called upon the provide a range of services from large Build items through to Consulting requests and simple questions, from areas diverse as Home Lending, Credit Cards & Personal Lending, Legal, Responsible Banking, Tax, Financial Crime, Business Lending, ANZx, Digital, Institutional - there’s more. The role of the Engagement Lead is to work directly with stakeholders to determine and manage the needs requested, and with the broader Core Systems team, as well as other Tribes in the bank, to deliver the requested service.

A key aspect of the Engagement Lead role will be taking the overall ownership all technical responses to regulatory matters, keeping abreast of all regulatory notices and requests, and being able to speak with legal and other relevant parties. Further, the Engagement function will identify key themes in remediation items and work with Core Systems engineering teams to develop appropriate and sustainable solutions.
