Mercer is seeking candidates for the following position based in our Sydney or Melbourne office: Infrastructure Specialist

The Infrastructure Specialist will be part of our global infrastructure investment team, working closely with colleagues in different countries. The successful candidate will take a key role in the sourcing, selection and monitoring of private market investments for discretionary and advisory client programmes

We will count on you to:

  • Perform investment, legal and operational due diligence on primary, secondary and co-investments in infrastructure
  • Contribute to screening memos and detailed investment recommendations
  • Provide input into investment decision-making and portfolio construction processes on behalf of client programs
  • Monitor portfolio investments through calls and meetings with investment managers, and advise when action is required
  • Develop and maintain relationships with investment managers and intermediaries, with a focus on Asia Pacific
  • Develop and maintain client relationships, and respond to client requests
  • Contribute to intellectual capital development and participate in industry events
  • Assist in new business development opportunities

What you need to have:

  • Degree in relevant disciple
  • Extensive professional work experience in asset management, consulting/fiduciary management, corporate finance or a related field
  • Prior experience in private markets
  • Strong analytical, numerical and critical thinking skills
  • Self-motivated team player; ability to lead across different projects and work collaboratively
  • Strong sense of ownership, paying attention to detail and ensuring high-quality client deliverables within set timelines
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; ability to present confidently to colleagues and clients

What makes you stand out:

  • Professional qualifications (Actuarial, CFA, CAIA or equivalent) are highly desirable
