JOB DESCRIPTION

We are an Australian Media Company seeking an experienced Group Payroll Supervisor to be based in our Geelong Shared Services offices

The role will involve day to day coordination of payroll staff, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of monthly (executive/commission) and fortnightly payrolls across a multi-site media company. 

The role is supported by 2 full time payroll officers.

Specific tasks will include:

  • ensure the efficient and effective operation of the payroll function by managing departmental workflows within deadlines,
  • Coordinate payroll team, ensuring end to end payroll processing and all administration associated with the payroll function
  • Interpretation and advise on multiple awards to management and staff
  • review the work of data payroll staff so as to achieve accuracy & consistency across group payroll entities,
  • liaising with the internal and external stakeholders to ensure the various compliances (eg child support, superannuation, payroll taxes) are reported accuratly and paid on time,
  • be a primary liaison officer between the company and its employees in terms of resolving leave and pay queries
Required skills:
  • Great time management and organisational skills
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracybe able to deliver high quality output to tight deadlines
  • Ability to cope with demanding situations and prioritise urgent tasks
  • Ability to identify process improvement across all functions
  • Team player, flexible and collaborative without losing sight of the purpose of the role

The successful applicant will have experience in:

  • several years experience in medium sized, multi-business, multi-location companies
  • Interpreting Award and general employment related legislation 
  • several years experience in the use of mid level software applications (TechnologyOne, Chris 21, SAP etc)
  • Experience in a managing a team would be an advantage
